After being in & around ministry for so long it becomes easier to discern when people are authentic in their own efforts of ministry. Here lately, we’ve had some people speak into our lives that have gotten it SO right & some others that have gotten it SO wrong. It’s important to be careful who you let speak into your life. Take the word that’s been given to you & take it to God. Learn to trust what He is saying to you in your own time with God just as much as you are listening to what He may be saying to you through other people. People won’t always get it right when they’re trying to speak into your life & that’s why I always take it with a grain of salt before confirming with God in my own prayer time. For those people who may have gotten it wrong, I just make a mental note of that & move forward. (That’s sort of where I learn who is legit or not... don’t let one person who gets it wrong skew your perspective of God). I know that God is still speaking through His people today, prophesies are still alive & well, word of knowledge is still alive & well & I’m so grateful for people who truly hear a word from God & are obedient to speak it into our lives. Several weeks ago I had two pastors speak into my life & I knew then it truly was a word from heaven because of things they said that only God, Cameron & I knew about. It was the unknown truths they said about my present that let me know it truly was from God & the words of prophesy that followed are things that I’m watching unfold now which validates and confirms what they said is to come. (Come on somebody!) God still speaks. He speaks to you, He speaks through others to you. Listen. Pray. Wait. Seek. He will give you a word to hold on to during unsettling times, He will guide and direct your path, He may give you a word in your own prayer time or a word from someone else speaking into your life, He may simply give you a peace in your heart about that which you bring to Him - Be open to Him.
“So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
