Quick Kitchen Tip

Can we talk about cooking dinner?

There are some days where I'm all about prepping, mixing, cooking..... but the cleaning is never fun.

Then there are days when I feel like I started at 2 PM and finished at 9 PM all just for the sake of stuffing our faces for 20 minutes.

Here's a HUGE tip that I started doing a while back that has made all the difference in the whole cooking and cleaning saga.... (which I most times enjoy the saga, especially after this tip entered my life.)

Before you do ANYTHING - unload the dishwasher.

Yep. Don't pull anything out of the fridge, don't chop one onion, don't pull out a mixing bowl. Unload the dishwasher. (That's if the dishes are clean of course.... if they're not clean, wash them and come back later.)

With an empty dishwasher you now have the ability to clean as you go - meaning that the same time it would've taken you to put the mixing bowl in the sink you simply put it in the dishwasher so that at the end of your cooking you now have a loaded dishwasher ready to be turned on versus a sink full of dishes that need to be washed.

This little tip has cut my cooking/cleaning sage in half PLUS by the time dinner is ready, I have a clean kitchen and we can sit down and eat without feeling like afterwards I'll be in the kitchen forever. Now, the kitchen is clean and I can sit and enjoy conversation over a wonderful meal. Simply leave space for the plates and yet again after dinner, rinse them, put them in the dishwasher and press the button!

Try it. It'll change your life. Or at least your evening.
