Further

Going the extra mile in life is something that I’ve always believed in. Although, there are are times when the word “no” must be utilized in your life in order to keep the chaos in balance, there are also things that we say “yes” to that which requires something further. Matthew 5:41 reminds us that, “If anyone forces me to go one mile, I will go with him two [miles]. I choose the more excellent way even when no one is looking.” That is the key – even when no one is looking to go further, to be excellent, to go the extra mile. Keep balance in order to not wear yourself out; however, don’t take short-cuts and do the bare minimum either. In all you do, do to the glory of God. Balance is vital here; to go further as often as you can without losing to chaos in always saying “yes” to more.
